Hey all you genies out there! This site is a blog on gene therapy and it will explain to you everything you need to know about gene therapy. This blog was created by 3 members of Ivanhoe Grammar School: Jaime McKenzie, Charlotte Turner and Robin Ng. It was created at an ‘out of school learning project that was based at La Trobe University. During our 2 weeks at La Trobe University we had the opportunity to study and research a topic of our choice. The reason that we chose Gene Therapy was because the scientific field of genetics fascinated us. We all found gene therapy a very interesting topic to research and learn more about. We did not have the usual research sources. Being at La Trobe gave us the option of interviewing Academics. Making this blog has made us realize what how much research is needed to cure the world’s worst diseases. Also that genetic disease’s inparticular are extremely serious and need to be dealt with the most precaution. Learning about Gene Therapy has opened up a whole new range of science to us that we didn’t know anything about and we will continue to learn and discover new and amazing things in this field.
