Genetic Disease àA disease that affects people that have one or more faulty genes. This can be passed from generation to generation.
Gene àA part of your cells which contain who you are. They determine what hair colour etc.
Hereditary diseases à genetic diseases
Parkinson's disease à progressive disease of the nervous system caused by tremor, muscular rigidity, and slow imprecise movement
Alzheimer's disease
à mental weakening occurring in middle or old age, due to general deterioration of the brain
Huntington's  disease àa disorder passed down through families in which certain nerve cells in the brain waste away, or degenerate
Enhancement à an improvement that makes something more agreeable
Capabilities à  Power or ability
Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee (RAC) à composed of scientists and ethicists, set up to review human gene therapy research in order to protect patients from unethical practices, procedures, and research
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) à the principal federal agency for health research in the United States (NIH is part of the Department of Health and Human Services)
